FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why so many events? I want to see everybody, but not all day every day.

People who live in Worthington & around southwestern Minnesota may have lots of chances to see each other regularly. Classmates traveling to the reunion from far away may have only this one weekend to catch up with old friends. We realize that not everyone will want to participate in all the events.

Dinner at the Country Club? Another meal on Sunday? Sounds expensive.

All the coordination of this event is being done by volunteers. Everything possible is being done to keep costs low, but we have to cover catering expenses, mailing costs, etc. Our reunion costs are in line with or even well below other WHS classes.

There are some low-cost options. The Friday night mixer has no cover charge, & you can sip from the same soft drink all night. We hope to add more free events to the schedule too. Besides—what’s it worth to see old friends?

Can I pay at the door?

Well, we certainly won't turn anyone away.  But the volunteers arranging these events want to enjoy the festivities too!  Please help the organizers by sending in your reservation as soon as you can.

My spouse won’t know anyone.

We don’t have a spouses' program. We estimate that about three-quarters of those attending our last reunion are married. Of those married folks, only about one-quarter brought their spouses. Of the one-quarter of attendees who are unmarried, almost no one brought a friend or significant other. So don’t hesitate to come alone!

What about class members who don’t have computers? How are you reaching them?

A “save the date” postcard went out in September to all those for whom we have good addresses. A second mailing with the reply form went out at the end of January. In the meantime, please pass along reunion information to any class members you know.

Are there any hotel discounts?

We’ve inquired about discounts at the two highest-rated properties in town. AmericInn turned us down flat. We asked Holiday Inn for a discount in March. Apparently they have finally responded, as follows:

“Hi, you had contacted-800 meeting about rooms for July 25 for several nights. We are unable to set up a block of rooms for that date but I will tell you our Rates.
For a room with one king bed non smoking or a room with two queen beds non smoking the rate will be $124.99 plus tax. We also have some studio suites that have either two queen beds or one king, they also have a small kitchenette with a microwave and fridge, the rate for them is $139.99 plus tax. Our tax is 9.5%. I would suggest your group make their individual reservations as soon as possible as the summer months we are full each night. Thank You.
